Mid-VA Senior Golf Association
The Greene Hills Men's Senior League is open to all male members ages 50 and over. Please contact GHC member Jim Jorgensen if you are interested in participating in this league.
The league has two divisions. GHC plays home and home matches with each team in our division and as well as one match against each team in the other division, alternating home or away every other year. In each match, 10 twosomes from each team compete in a best ball match play format. The team is awarded 1 point for winning a hole and each team gets 1/2 a point when a hole is halved, for a total of 18 points in each match. There are a total of 180 points at stake each week. At the end of the season, the team with the highest average number of points per match in each Division is the winner and the two Division winners play a match to determine the League Champion.

In 2010, the Greene Hills MVSGA team finished with a season record of 8-10. The winner of the 2010 competition was Fawn Lake Country Club. The competition was close, with Fawn Lake winning the trophy by tie-breaker. This league wrapped up its season with a Golf Bash at Fredericksburg Country Club on September 30.

A 9-hole playoff will be held on Thursday, August 4: Yellow vs Green and Brown vs Blue. The winners of these matches will play an 18-hole championship match on Sunday, August 7.
Tournament Results:
The Yellow team defeated the Blue team 37 - 35 in the 18-Hole Championship played on Sunday, August 7. As the score indicated, this was a very close match. Congratulations to the members of the Yellow team for winning both the regular season and the tournament: Raymond Powdrell, Larry Dudding, Bill Baggett, Tommy Tanner, Devin Madison, Tim Woodson, Ned Rebich and Bill Crigler.
