Lettter from Coach Patrick Kibler:
Hello Gator families!
It’s that time of year again! While the restrictions on social gatherings will continue to evolve throughout the summer, one thing is certain – the Greene Hills swim team will hold practice as normal (mornings and evenings) and we will again have the opportunity to compete!
Our first day of practice will be TUESDAY, May 25th. This is a one day shift from what I had previously discussed during registration. If you missed registration, don’t worry! You can sign up on your first day of practice. If you know of anyone who has not registered at this time or might be new and is not on this email list, please spread the word and forward them this email. We will have registration forms with us at practice for the first couple of weeks. Also, the swim team fee this year is $85 for your first child, $80 for second, $75 for third, $70 for forth.
Attached to this email are the practice groups, practice times, and our current meet schedule. Our morning practice times might be adjusted, depending on how many swimmers we have. The evening practice times will be the same as normal.
If you have any questions about what group your swimmer(s) should be in, please do not hesitate to ask. I know it has been a couple of years since some of your kids have been in the water, but my plan is to start them in the group they were in in 2019 and move them up as needed during the first week of practice (although I have already spoken to some of you about where your swimmer should be).
For our first week, we will hold practice on the 25th, 26th, and the 27th (Tuesday – Thursday), only in the evenings. The following week we will have practice in the evenings on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (Tuesday – Thursday) as well as in the mornings on the 1st, 3rd and 4thWe will not have any practice on Memorial Day.
While I am incredibly excited to get our kids back in the water, I know that many of you and your kids may be feeling some anxiety – it’s been almost two years! Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns that you might have.
I also want to make this year as fun as possible, which means I need your help! We have ideas for some new, fun activities to do during the season with our team, but I would love your input. If you have some awesome ideas or if there are any past activities that you would like to help lead, please reach out to me! If you can’t think of anything right now but know you would like to contribute to this part of our team, let me know – I’d like to get a good group of parents in on this to really boost our team morale.
Thank you for everything you all do for our Gator swimmers!
